  • Boys and Girls Club of Tucson This web site discusses the importance of positive role models for children. It includes information on programs designed to enhance Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation.
  • Child & Family Resources, Inc. This web site has information regarding numerous child care and family programs in the Tucson area. These programs include: child care services, family support services, and youth programs.
  • Information and Referral This web site is the information hub of human services and offers a wide range of programs to meet the needs of southern Arizona's equally wide range of people. The mission is to help people help themselves. In particular, there is information regarding the Imagine Project, which works with middle school communities - teachers, parents, businesses, school personnel, and students - to create a climate in which youth become, and are regarded as, the important asset in that community.
  • Pilot Parents of Southern Arizona This organization provides a wide variety of programs and services that support families of children with disabilities, including peer to peer support, a parent training and information center, a library and a quarterly newsletter.
  • Tucson Moms Tucson Moms is a non-profit group dedicated to creating a positive support group for moms. Tucson Moms offers a variety of activities: weekly playgroups, fun family events, moms' night outs and much more.

State of Arizona

  • Arizona Attorney General Protecting children is a key priority of the Attorney General's Office, whether through enforcing laws governing tobacco accessibility or child abuse. Resources include a focus on Internet and school safety.
  • Arizona Department of Economic Security "Early Intervention" is professionals working in partnership with parents and families of children with special needs, to support their children's growth, development, and learning. The Arizona Early Intervention Program, also known as AzEIP (pronounced Ay-zip), is a statewide system of supports and services for families of children, birth to three, with disabilities or developmental delays.
  • Arizona Department of Health Services This web site links you to information regarding immunizations, nutrition, dental health, vision and hearing screening, teen pregnancy, special health care needs and more.
  • Arizona Department of Health Services, Assurance and Licensure Division The Division of Licensing Service, Office of Child Care Licensing regulates and monitors licensed child care facilities and certified child care group homes and conducts foster home sanitation inspections statewide. Of note is their on-line licensed facility search capabilities.
  • Arizona Department of Health Services, Office for Children with Special Health Care Needs This office aims to promote continuous improvement in the health, future and quality of life for adults and children with special health care needs by building partnerships with families, communities, and providers, both public and private.
  • Health Insurance-Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Information on state health insurance is available for families and/or children in need. This site includes costs of program, applications, and information to use the AHCCCS system.

  • ChildCare.gov This web site is designed to bring all of the federal agency resources about child care together in one place. Individuals can find Federal funding sources, keep up to date on safety alerts, find and share promising practices and much more.
  • FirstGov. Gov-The U.S. Government's Official Web Portal This web site enables the viewer to search millions of web pages from federal and state governments, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories on a variety of areas, including family and parenting issues. Most of these pages are not available on commercial web sites.
  • National Institutes of Health This web site hosts research information based on studies funded by the Institute. It includes topics such as stress, depression, anxiety, health care concerns, and other valuable areas of mental health.
  • U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission The Commission works to ensure the safety of consumer products, such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals. There is important recall information posted on the web site as well as how to report an unsafe product and receive product recalls via email.
  • U.S. Department of Education This web site promotes educational excellence for children, families, administrators, and teachers. It contains numerous articles and events related to education in America.
  • U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid The U.S. Department of Education's Federal Student Aid (FSA) programs are the largest source of student aid in America, providing nearly 70% of all student financial aid. The information provided here is designed to assist you in your college planning.   • Child Care Aware Child Care Aware is a non-profit initiative committed to helping parents find the best information on locating quality child care and child care resources in their community.   • National Association for Family Child Care The Association's focus is to provide technical assistance to family child care associations. This assistance is provided through developing leadership and professionalism, addressing issues of diversity, and by promoting quality and professionalism through its Family Child Care Accreditation. Of note is the Association's accreditation process for family child care home settings and on-line accreditation search capabilities.
  • National Association for the Education of Young Children The Association exists for the purpose of leading and consolidating the efforts of individuals and groups working to achieve healthy development and constructive education for all young children. Primary attention is devoted to assuring the provision of high quality early childhood programs for young children.   • The National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies The Association is the national network of more than 850 child care resource and referral centers (CCR&Rs) located in every state and most communities across the United States.   • National Safety Council The goal of the Council is to educate and influence society to adopt safety, health and environmental policies, practices and procedures that prevent and mitigate human suffering and economic losses arising from preventable causes.
