Sick Child and Emergency/Back-Up Care Program

Overview

The following describes the 2008/2009 Sick Child and Emergency/Back-Up Care Program (SCP/EBCP), offered by UA Life & Work Connections' Child Care and Family Resources. An important work/life service, the SCP/EBCP supports the diverse, organizational and family needs of our campus community. The SCP/EBCP is available in the greater Tucson area for undergraduate and graduate/professional students and benefits-eligible employees, and provides temporary caregiver service for their children, ages birth-12 years.

  • The Sick Child Program (SCP) serves children who are sick and unable to attend school or well child care.
  • The Emergency/Back-Up Care Program (EBCP) serves children when there is an unscheduled interruption in regular school and/or child care arrangements. The EBCP cannot be used for care when children are out of school due to holidays or other planned school closures, nor for the period between the end of summer programming and the beginning of school.

The University of Arizona contracts with community vendor(s) to provide this service. The Choice Care Agency, Inc. (CCA) serves as the Sick Child and Emergency/Back-Up Care Program contracted vendor.
