Who can use Employee Assistance, Counseling and Consultation?
All benefits-eligible University of Arizona faculty, staff and appointed personnel. Dependents may be seen only in conjunction with the employee.

Are visits confidential?
All visits with Employee Assistance, Counseling & Consultation are confidential within legal limits. No notation is made on your personnel record. No information is released to anyone regarding your visits unless you provide a written release to do so, or unless the information is subpoenaed by the courts. Under certain circumstances such as life-threatening situations, or reported child abuse, there are legal limits to confidentiality.

Can I be forced to go to Employee Assistance, Counseling & Consultation?
No. Our services are offered on a voluntary basis only.

Can you help me change someone in my life?
No, but options and strategies can be explored which may help you change or change the situation.

What is the cost?
This service is voluntary and free of charge.

How many visits can I have?
Six visits maximum per calendar year, as appropriate. At the final visit the counselor will discuss options including referral to other providers of community resources.

Where is Employee Assistance, Counseling & Consultation located?
Just north of main campus and south of the Arizona Health Sciences Center, at 1125 - SE corner of Helen & Vine. Client parking is available.

What are the office hours?
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. Because of demand for services, we request that cancellations or rescheduled appointments be made 24 hours in advance. Call (520) 621-2493 to make an appointment. Individuals with disabilities who require reasonable accomodations to access UA Life & Work Connections services are encouraged to contact us (520) at 621-2493/TTY or (520) 621-4426.

Do you ever present workshops on campus?
Yes, as departments or workgroups request them. We can present on a wide variety of topics, ranging from stress and resiliency to grief to nutrition and fitness topics. Check out our Presentation page. We can also present on department-specific topics or refer you to other colleagues in Human Resources.
