Life & Work Connections is pleased to offer the UA Campus community, “Transforming Lives Through Resilience Education,” a series of online training modules created by Dr. Mary Steinhardt of the University of Texas.
The training is:
Free of charge to all UA benefits-eligible employees!
Convenient – Online modules allows you 24/7 access to learn on YOUR schedule!
Self-Paced – The 4 modules take between 30 and 45 minutes each! Smaller segments (3-12 min) allow you to stop and come back later
Interactive – There are helpful assignments within each module to personalize your learning
Reviewable – Once finished, you can return as many times as you like during the year to help reinforce what you have learned

The Resiliency Advantage (2005). The Resiliency Manual for Federal Employees (2007). Created especially for the Federal Employee, Al Siebert adapts his lessons on how you can learn to bounce back quickly from deeply disruptive change, be resilient during difficult transitions, solve problems effectively, break free from inner prohibitions than hamper resiliency, increase your self confidence, work effectively without a job description, avoid resiliency fatigue, become change-proficient, and sustain your energy in circumstances that overwhelm others.
Survivor Personality (1996). The Survivor Personality: Why Some People Are Stronger, Smarter, and More Skillful at Handling Life's Difficulties...and How You Can Be, Too.
This research group at the University of North Carolina (UNC) is headed by Dr. Barbara Fredrickson. "We are interested in how positive emotions affect people’s thinking patterns, social behavior, and physiological reactions. Our ultimate goal is to understand how positive emotions might accumulate and compound to transform people’s lives for the better."
