WELCOME to the University of Arizona's Walking for Health pathways web page! Walking for Health is intended for everyone in the campus community: undergrads, graduate students, post-docs, and all levels of faculty, staff, and appointed personnel. Members
of the Tucson community are welcome to use the paths also.
Walking for Health's goal is to promote a healthier campus community through culture change, the mapping of walking and running pathways and their distances around campus, and education through the availability of health information and professional services.
As you follow the paths set up on campus, here is another opportunity to increase your level of physical fitness. Try the Student Health Advisory Council's UA-Fit course at this website.
Safety first! Some of the Walking for Health Pathways are not as well lighted as others. Take special care at night to stay with those paths that are well-lighted and in more populated areas. Let someone know when you are going and your approximate time of return. Carry a whistle or cell phone for your protection, or walk with a buddy.
Walking for Health is a new idea for the campus community, jointly sponsored and collaboratively developed by four different campus entities (August 2005):
- Campus Facilities and Planning
- UA Life & Work Connections
- Campus Recreation Center
- Residence Hall Association
