Nancy serves as Coordinator for the UA Worksite Wellness Program. This program covers a variety of services that assist faculty and staff in maintaining or developing work/life balance. Health promotion and prevention of chronic diseases are the main emphasis, offering employees current health information so they can make informed decisions. Nancy is a wellness professional with a varied background in the health arena and offers the following to UA employees:
- Wellness screenings for heart health and diabetes
- Osteoporosis screenings
- Flu vaccinations
- Presentations for departments on a variety of nutrition/fitness/health topics
- An 8-week course on Healthy Habits for Life to interested groups
- Program development for specific projects
- Individual counseling on nutrition and fitness
Nancy received her Bachelors and Master of Science degrees from the University of Arizona, in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her Dietetic Internship at University Medical Center and is a Registered Dietitian. She has worked as a clinical dietitian, nutrition consultant, relief and development worker in rural Mexico, health educator, and lecturer at both the junior college and university levels.
