UA Life & Work Connections
Darci Thompson leads the UA Life & Work Connections at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Unique features of this program address "whole person wellness" through the integration of employee assistance, worksite wellness, child and elder care services, and work/life integration for over 12,500 faculty and staff. Select dependent care services are also provided to students. These combined efforts provide a unique life cycle response that enhances employee/student well-being and retention. www.lifework.arizona.edu
Darci is a licensed clinical social worker experienced in managerial and organizational consulting. She applies a health/wellness perspective when educating supervisors and employees on achieving resilience, promoting work/life effectiveness and mitigating risk in the work environment. Darci also presents to national, state, and local forums; serves as an external consultant/educator, research associate, and a faculty associate of the ASU School of Social Work, and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources through the HR Certification Institute.
Darci serves on the UA Campus Emergency Response Team, the Threat Assessment and Management Team, and the International Travel Safety Oversight Committee. Trained in multiple Crisis Response Models, she is a member of the Southern Arizona Peer Support Interagency Team, the Southeastern Arizona Coalition for Healthcare Emergency Response, and a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
