Darci Thompson is the Director of UA Life & Work Connections (LWC). Unique features of this University of Arizona program address "whole person wellness" through the integration of employee assistance, worksite wellness, child and elder care services, and work/life support to over 14,000 faculty and staff. Select dependent care services are also provided to students. These combined efforts provide a unique life cycle response that ensures employee/student well-being and retention.
As a licensed clinical social worker, Darci has 20 years of clinical, managerial, and work/life experience. She applies a work/life perspective when educating supervisors and employees on achieving resilience, promoting wellness, and mitigating risk in the academic/work environment. She presents to national, state, and local forums; serves as an external consultant/educator, research associate, and a faculty associate of the ASU School of Social Work, and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resources Management.
In addition to her administrative duties, Darci participates on the UA Campus Emergency Response team and the Threat Assessment and Management Team. Darci is trained in multiple crisis response models, is a member of the Northwest Fire Interagency Team, and is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals.
