Staff Naughton James

James is a native of Tucson and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with an elective focus on behavioral disorders, learning disabilities and addiction. He has been in the field of mental health and addiction treatment for over 20 years and has worked in many different facets of inpatient care including case management, intensive workshop facilitation for childhood/adult traumas, continuing care coordination, family program facilitation, clinical coordinator of an extended care programs for trauma/addiction and sexual compulsivity, and as a trauma resolution specialist.  Additionally, James has trained in two different types of trauma resolution therapy including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Somatic Experiencing (SE).

In his free-time James enjoys reading various kinds of fiction and hanging-out at local coffee houses, hiking in the Arizona White Mountains, leisurely strolls with his dog, cardio and core-training at the gym, and traveling to cool northern climates.
