Suicide Prevention Classes

Many of us have been affected by suicide and it remains one of the leading causes of death for adults in the United States.

In recognition of this important public health issue, the UA Campus Health Service in cooperation with UA Life & Work Connections will offer free, 90 minute to 2-hour QPR Suicide Prevention classes open to the UA community.  QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

As a QPR-trained gatekeeper you will learn to:

  • Recognize the warning signs of suicide

  • Know how to offer hope

  • Know how to get help and save a life

If you have questions or would like to set up a group training, contact Chad Myler or call 520-626-4760 or Christi Castillo or call 520-621-4251.  If you are in crisis, or someone you know is in crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.
