Work-Life Seal of Distinction

For the sixth consecutive year, the University of Arizona received the Seal of Distinction award from WorldatWork, a non-profit human resources association.
 
“The Work-Life Seal of Distinction, identifies workplaces with exemplary work/life initiatives, programs, and practices," said Allison Vaillancourt, vice president of business affairs and human resources. “The University of Arizona is delighted to be named a 2017 recipient.”
 
The UA was granted this national recognition for its commitment to work-life integration. Award-winning areas include:
 

  • University subsidized Sick Child and Emergency/Back-Up Care program

  • Cross-campus collaborations, linking lactation support, expanded spaces and flexible work arrangements

  • Web-based elder care coordination

  • Child and elder care consultations

  • Employee emergency fund

  • Financial assistance with qualifying childcare costs

  • Healthy Workplace Award of Excellence awardee

  • Employee wellness and health promotion

 
The UA is one of 11 organizations to have qualified every year since 2012, when WorldatWork started the Seal of Distinction.
 
"This recognition speaks to our sustained commitment to taking care of the people who make the University successful," said Vaillancourt. "It is gratifying to see that our work-life programs, professional development efforts, and workplace culture initiatives continue to be nationally recognized."
 
According to Gregg Goldman, senior vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer of the UA, this achievement is a reflection of the University’s commitment to its faculty, students, and staff.
