Easing the Cost of Childcare

Childcare Choice: Choose your setting, your location, and your curriculum.

The Childcare Choice – Student program offers up to $2,000 childcare subsidy awards per fiscal year per household for qualifying childcare. The childcare must occur in Arizona, and it must be coursework-related. To participate, you must be a current undergraduate or graduate/professional student at the University of Arizona and have demonstrated financial need*.

*The following must be on file with the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid (OSFA): a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) Calculator results for those who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

Enrollment Verification Form

Completed by your provider, you must submit an Enrollment Verification Form with your application. This verifies your child’s enrollment in childcare.

International Students Only

Financial Aid Calculation Form

If you are an international student, you must complete and submit the Financial Aid Calculation Form during the enrollment process.

Expected Family Contribution

If you are an international student, you must submit a screenshot of the Expected Family Contribution results during the enrollment process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. All eligible students must submit a new application each fiscal year.

Yes. Students approved during the fall semester must email a new Enrollment Verification Form to lifework@arizona.edu in January to receive the spring semester award.

No. A child’s birthdate and Enrollment Verification Form are both needed to apply for this program.

Sick and Back-Up Childcare

Sick and backup childcare services are available when there is an unexpected interruption in your regularly scheduled childcare.
