National Breastfeeding Month

August is National Breastfeeding Month. In 2024, the theme will be “Nourish, Sustain, Thrive.” I grew up hearing my grandmother say, “Breast is best.” She also claimed that any amount of time breastfeeding, no matter how short, would be best for the baby and that it was always the right temperature.

[LQP] Parental leave for dad means more support for mom

July 10, 2024

The University of Arizona expanded its parental leave policy in January 2022 to provide 12 weeks of paid leave and 12 weeks of optional unpaid leave. Data from 354 employees showed that more women (62%) used parental leave than men (38%), despite the university workforce being 57% female and 43% male.
